Program options for the Gifted and Talented program are designed to meet the needs of students at different grade levels. All students in grades Kindergarten through second grade meet in the GT room on a weekly schedule of 30 minutes. Whole class enrichment activities allow the GT teacher to observe students in a learning setting. Students in the third and fourth grades attend GT for 150 minutes each week. They participate in units designed to foster critical and creative thinking skills. The middle school students, in fifth through eighth grade, have a regularly scheduled daily class for GT or are in a core class which offers differentiation. These students participate in units of study designed around their interests which allow them to research and produce products. They also participate in academic competitions. The high school students are enrolled in pre-AP, AP, and meet monthly with the GT teacher. EAST Lab is also a GT option in high school. Students in the GT program will explore a variety of activities utilizing Gardner's multiple intelligences in order to best utilize their strengths and improve on their weaknesses.
