The Greenland School District can receive nominations from teachers, parents, students, and community members. The Greenland Placement Committee consists of the GT building facilitator, the building principal, the school counselor, and at least two classroom teachers. Parent/Guardians of students who are recommended for testing are sent a Permission to Test Form. Students for whom permission is granted are given individual, diagnostic measures. Both subjective and objective measures are administered in the areas of academic achievement, mental ability, motivation/task commitment, and creativity tests. The Greenland Placement Committee conducts a review of the assessment results. The committee then makes a recommendation regarding placement in the program. Students are evaluated quarterly based on creative thinking, critical thinking, communication, independent learning/research, and affective development.
